The IPL Photofacial is a gentle, non-ablative (meaning it doesn’t damage the skin’s surface) treatment that uses pulses of broad-spectrum light. This light energy is absorbed by specific targets in the skin, such as
Melanin: The pigment responsible for brown spots, freckles, and hyperpigmentation.
Haemoglobin: The protein in red blood cells, which absorbs light and helps reduce redness and visible blood vessels.
When the light energy is absorbed, it is converted into heat, which damages the targeted cells without harming the surrounding tissue. Over a series of treatments, this process helps to break down pigmentation, reduce redness, and stimulate collagen production.
Why Choose PhotoFacial Treatement
In Mumbai’s sunny climate, our skin is often exposed to significant UV radiation, leading to various pigmentation issues and premature ageing. The IPL Photofacial is an excellent choice for addressing these concerns effectively and conveniently.
1. Targets Multiple Skin Concerns Simultaneously
Unlike lasers that focus on a single wavelength of light, IPL’s broad spectrum can address a variety of issues in one treatment, including sunspots, age spots, freckles, redness from rosacea, and small visible blood vessels.
2. Non-Invasive with Minimal Downtime
The IPL Photofacial is a gentle procedure that doesn’t require any incisions or significant downtime. You can typically return to your normal activities immediately after your session, making it perfect for busy lifestyles in Mumbai.
3. Effective for Sun Damage and Pigmentation
Mumbai’s intense sun can lead to stubborn pigmentation. IPL is highly effective at breaking down excess melanin, fading sunspots, age spots, and freckles to reveal a more even and radiant skin tone.
4. Reduces Redness and Rosacea
If you struggle with facial redness, flushing, or the visible blood vessels associated with rosacea, IPL can help to diminish these concerns, leading to a calmer and more balanced complexion.
5. Stimulates Collagen Production
The heat generated by IPL energy also encourages the production of new collagen and elastin, which can lead to a subtle improvement in skin texture, firmness, and the appearance of fine lines over time.
Benefits of PhotoFacial Treatement
Fades Sun Damage and Unwanted Pigmentation
This is the most celebrated benefit of IPL. The light energy is precisely absorbed by excess melanin in the skin, effectively breaking it down. This leads to a significant reduction in the appearance of Sun spots and age spots, Freckles, Brown patches and hyperpigmentation
Creates a Flawlessly Even Skin Tone
If you struggle with persistent facial redness, flushing associated with rosacea, or a generally blotchy complexion, IPL can make a dramatic difference. The light energy targets and diminishes the tiny blood vessels causing the redness, resulting in a calmer, clearer, and more uniform skin tone.
Diminishes Visible Facial Veins (Spider Veins)
IPL can effectively erase the appearance of tiny, broken capillaries (known as telangiectasias) that often appear around the nose, on the cheeks, and across the face, leading to a much clearer complexion.
Stimulates Collagen for a Youthful Boost
The thermal effect from the IPL energy gently heats the deeper layers of the skin, stimulating the cells responsible for producing new collagen. Over a series of treatments, this contributes to Improved skin texture, Reduction in the appearance of fine lines and a subtle firming quality to the skin
A Quick and Convenient Treatment
Often called a "lunchtime procedure," a full-face IPL session can typically be completed in just 30-45 minutes. With minimal downtime—usually just a few hours of mild redness—you can easily fit this powerful treatment into your busy schedule without significant disruption.
Restores Overall Radiance and Luminosity
By clearing away the "clutter" of brown spots and red patches that can make skin look dull and aged, the IPL Photofacial reveals the healthy, clear skin beneath. The cumulative result is a significant improvement in your skin's overall luminosity and a return to a brighter, more radiant glow.

FAQ
Is it truly safe to use my own blood on my face?
Yes, it is one of the safest and most natural regenerative treatments available in dermatology today. Because the Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is derived from your own blood (a process called “autologous” use), there is virtually no risk of allergic reactions, sensitivities, or your body rejecting it. The entire process, from the blood draw to the final application, is performed under strictly sterile, medical-grade conditions in our clinic.
Does the 'Vampire Facial' actually hurt?
Despite the scary-sounding nickname, the treatment is made very comfortable for our patients. We begin by applying a strong topical anaesthetic (numbing cream) to the face for 30-40 minutes. This ensures that while you may feel a mild vibrating or tingling sensation from the microneedling device used to apply the PRP, you will not experience significant pain.
What is the downtime after a Face PRP session?
The downtime is minimal. Immediately after the treatment, you can expect your skin to be red and feel sensitive and tight, similar to a mild sunburn. This redness typically subsides significantly within 24 hours, and most clients feel comfortable returning to work and their normal routine the very next day. We will provide detailed aftercare instructions, which include avoiding direct sun exposure and harsh skincare products for a few days.
How many PRP sessions will I need?
While a single session will impart a beautiful, healthy glow to your skin, PRP works best as a cumulative treatment for long-term regeneration. For optimal results in collagen building and to address specific concerns like acne scars or fine lines, we typically recommend a series of 3 to 4 sessions, with each session spaced about 4-6 weeks apart.
When will I see the results, and how long do they last?
You may notice an initial improvement in your skin’s glow and texture within a couple of weeks. However, the true regenerative results from new collagen production appear gradually and are most visible 2 to 3 months after your course of treatment is complete. Because you have built new, healthy tissue, these results are very long-lasting (often a year or more). We recommend a single maintenance session annually to sustain these benefits.
Should I get PRP instead of Botox or Fillers?
This is an excellent question, as they serve different purposes:
Botox & Fillers are for correction. They “fix” a specific problem—fillers add volume to a hollow area, and Botox stops a muscle from creating a wrinkle.
PRP is for regeneration. It improves the overall health, quality, thickness, and glow of your entire skin. It makes your skin healthier and act younger.
Our dermatologist will advise you on the best approach for your goals. They are not mutually exclusive and can sometimes be used in combination for a full face rejuvenation.
It's currently August. Is this a good time to start PRP treatments?
This is the perfect time to begin your PRP journey. A full course of 3-4 sessions takes a few months to complete. By starting your treatments now, your skin will be hitting its peak health and radiance just in time for the major festive and wedding season which runs from October through December. It is the ideal way to plan ahead for a truly natural and lasting glow.
